My approach to teaching yoga
Presenting yoga in a modern urban setting, I’d like to keep awareness of the original meaning and potential of yoga. Presenting yoga as a merely physical exercise program would be like buying a sport car and driving it like it was a bicycle!
The original goal of yoga is to achieve full self realization and supreme happiness.
Many of today’s practitioners have more modest ambitions - and many might only know it as some kind of fitness from India. ;) Therefore, it seems wise to me to meet somewhere in between.
With yoga, we can train our nervous systems to achieve more energy, balance & peacefulness, lower levels of stress, increased body awareness and more.
Whatever we practice, we get better at! Therefore I find it interesting to practice yoga with a specific intention.
My wish is to respect the tradition as I understand it, and at the same time create space for playfulness. It is also my wish that the student feel the potential & the purpose of each exercise, physically, energetically & spiritually. Sometimes I find it purposeful to bring in tools that are not originally yogic but that support our intention.
I wish that you will enjoy the practice so that you feel inspired & free to continue the journey, in your personal way!
Description of the style of yoga I teach will be translated soon :)
